SD pc1.3 Power Tank
This module stores power, and increases the max power capacity by an amount that increases the more of these blocks are directly connected to each other. They aren't affected by dimensionality, so as long as they are connected to each other at all, the same amount of tanks will give the same amount of increase in power. As any ship will have 20,000 energy without these, and the first only adds 1(then 2, then 3...etc., with some variance), these are only worthwhile in very large(100+) numbers.These blocks also give a small glow of green. For power generation, see the SD HCT xm3.4 Power Block.
There is no difference in how you layout the blocks, line, grid, box, etc is all the same, all that matters is how many are attached.
|Number of Linked Blocks||Extra Power||Power Per Block|
Don't try to split up these into multiple sections in your ship, keep them combined as two sets of 1,000 will give 177,827.90 x 2 = 355,655.80 while a single 2,000 set will give 598,139.50 or 242,483.70 more power for the same amount of blocks!
The amount of energy storage provided by a group of connected Power Tanks is:
Storage Provided by Group = Tanks ^ 1.75
Remember that your ship starts with 20,000 storage, default, so if you only have one group of Power Tanks on your ship (as is advisable), then you add 20,000 to the above equation to get your total storage.
